GR Technics celebrated its 20th anniversary in November 2025. Co-founder Gunter Roefs handed the reins as CEO to Xavier Van Mierloo.

In November 2025, GR Technics celebrated its 20th anniversary. For two days, employees, customers, and suppliers came together to reflect on what began in the garage of Gunter Roefs’ parents, where he welded the first “ light tower .” The celebration concluded with the annual networking event hosted by Ondernemend Beerse, featuring 330 entrepreneurs and partners in our own banquet hall, with director Jan Verheyen as the guest speaker.

‍

From a garage to 10,000 towers worldwide

After four relocations, GR Technics now operates out of a 10,000 m² building in Beerse. More than 10,000 mobile STALICO® camera masts are in use worldwide. “And it doesn’t stop there,” says Gunter Roefs.

‍

The torch is passed on

The anniversary also marked the occasion to announce an important change: co-founder Gunter Roefs handed over the role of CEO to Xavier Van Mierloo. Xavier joined the company in 2024 as an engineer with strong commercial and leadership skills, and quickly became Gunter’s right-hand man. Gunter will remain involved with the company as a co-founder and strategic manager.

“Xavier will further raise GR Technics’ profile and expand our mobile STALICO® systems internationally,” said Gunter Roefs.

‍

The future shines brightly

Xavier summed up his ambition on stage: “The future burns bright. For where vision is passed on, there is no end—only a new beginning.” With autonomous camera and detection masts, international growth, and the next generation of STALICO® systems, GR Technics looks forward to the next twenty years with confidence.
