On sites without fixed infrastructure, such as posts, fences or walls, there is often still a need for lighting. In such cases, a mobile light tower offers the ideal solution: it is easily movable and quick to install.
Mobile light towers provide fast, flexible and effective lighting and security of business premises, construction sites or events, all without the need for fixed infrastructure. They increase visibility, work to prevent intrusions and can be easily moved or adapted to changing conditions.
On top of that, obtaining permits for fixed poles is often complex or even impossible. In that light, the slightly higher cost of a temporary mobile light tower is perfectly justifiable in many projects. For long-term projects, of course, a fixed lighting pole or tower remains the most appropriate solution.
A mobile light tower can be installed in less than 10 minutes. Compared to lighting on scaffolding, poles or with counterweights, bracing and cabling, this is a much cheaper and more efficient solution. For short-term projects of several months, renting is usually the preferred choice.
The basic function of a light tower remains the same regardless of the power source used. The difference is in how the power is generated:
- A diesel-powered light tower contains a built-in generator that generates power to power the lights.
- A solar light tower is equipped with solar panels and a battery, which charges during the day and powers the lights at night.
- A mains power light tower operates through a direct power connection and has no battery; the lights only function as long as the tower is connected to the mains.
Events must increasingly take into account the environment and local residents. A diesel generator running day and night in a residential area is therefore often no longer an acceptable solution. Fortunately, GR Technics offers hybrid power solutions and light towers that use batteries. With these, a full night can be covered without having to run the generator continuously.
Good site lighting ensures that employees can work safely and efficiently, and that visitors, such as festival-goers, feel safe at an event. It may not be a legal requirement, but today it is an absolute must.
Is the required light intensity not so high, for example in parking lots or walkways, and is it a temporary project of several days? Then an autonomous light tower is the ideal solution. This tower runs on batteries and, where possible, is supplemented with solar energy. After a few days, the mobile light tower is retrieved and recharged.
